Privacy Policy
How ModulStory collects, uses, shares, and protects the information needed to provide the Service.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how ModulStory collects, uses, and shares personal data when you use ModulStory (the “Service”). It applies to visitors, account holders, and subscribers.
ModulStory is responsible for the processing of personal data described in this Privacy Policy. You can contact us at support@modulstory.com or contact@modulstory.com.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: your name, email address, and Clerk-authenticated account identifiers used to create and secure your account.
- Content data: the projects, stories, and assets you create or upload while using the Service.
- Billing data: local subscription, entitlement, and transaction-status records needed to provide paid access and reconcile billing events. We do not receive or store card numbers.
- Browser, device, and security data: technical logs and security signals needed to operate, protect, and troubleshoot the Service.
3. How we use your data
We use personal data to:
- provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- authenticate you and secure your account;
- process subscriptions, maintain entitlement state, and reconcile billing events;
- respond to support requests;
- monitor reliability and investigate security incidents; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
Depending on the processing, our legal bases may include performing our contract with you, legitimate interests in operating a secure Service, consent where required, and compliance with law.
4. Service providers and sharing
We use online service providers for specific parts of the Service. Clerk provides identity and authentication. Paddle acts as Merchant of Record for subscription payment processing, invoices, tax handling, order support, and returns. Other online hosting and service providers help us operate, secure, maintain, and monitor ModulStory. We do not sell personal data.
Read the provider notices for their own processing: Clerk privacy notice, Paddle privacy notice, and Paddle Data Processing Addendum.
6. Data retention
We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide and secure the Service, support an active account, reconcile billing, investigate security matters, and meet legal, tax, or accounting obligations. Retention depends on the type and purpose of the record; we do not state a fixed deletion deadline here. When data is no longer needed for those purposes, we delete or anonymize it where practicable.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. To exercise a right or ask a privacy question, contact contact@modulstory.com. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children below the age required by applicable law, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us using the details above.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are material, we will notify you through the Service or by email and update the “Last updated” date above.
Privacy questions and requests can be sent to contact@modulstory.com.
