Terms of Service
The terms for using ModulStory, including accounts, subscriptions, content, and acceptable use.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of ModulStory (the “Service”), an independent software service operated under the ModulStory brand. By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” refers to that organization. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the Service. Authentication is provided through Clerk, and you are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activity under it.
Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account or other breach of security.
3. Subscriptions, billing, and Merchant of Record
ModulStory offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. The price, cadence, features, and applicable limits are shown before you complete checkout. Paid plans renew automatically for the selected cadence until you cancel them. Any price or plan change applies prospectively and will be communicated with any notice required by applicable law.
ModulStory subscriptions are sold and processed by Paddle.com as our Merchant of Record. Paddle (Paddle.net) will appear on your bank/card statement.
Paddle handles payment, invoices, taxes, customer-service questions, and returns for subscription orders. For buyer support, visit Paddle buyer support.
Your purchase is also subject to the Paddle Buyer Terms.
Paid entitlements follow payment confirmation received through our billing process. A redirect, checkout overlay closing, or client-side success state does not by itself confirm payment or grant an entitlement. See our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy for related information.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to, and not to permit others to:
- use the Service in violation of applicable law or a third-party right;
- upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you do not have the right to use;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems;
- interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service; or
- resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service except as expressly permitted.
5. Your content and ownership
You retain the rights you have in content you provide to the Service, including text, images, files, and other materials you supply. You may use and share exports you create using the Service.
ModulStory and its licensors retain their rights in the Service and in materials provided as part of the Service, including its software, templates, visual elements, and existing design components.
ModulStory may use or incorporate non-content structural elements created or configured through the Service, such as template structures, layouts, arrangements, flows, slot configurations, compositions, and other reusable design patterns. This does not include the text, images, files, or other content you provide.
6. Service availability
We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but it may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, security work, or events outside our reasonable control. Features, templates, limits, and integrations may change as the Service develops.
7. Cancellation and termination
You may stop using the Service and stop future subscription renewals at any time through the Manage Subscription link in your Paddle receipt or customer portal. If you need help, contact ModulStory support or Paddle buyer support as described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Cancellation stops future renewals at the end of the current paid period; it does not itself delete your account or content.
We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if providing the Service becomes commercially impractical. Sections intended to survive, including ownership, disclaimers, and limitations of liability, continue to apply.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ModulStory will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, and total liability for a claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are material, we will provide notice through the Service or by email and update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
